Port of Kokkola now has a representative in the IHMA Council

The Harbour Master of Port of Kokkola Carita Rönnqvist was re-elected into the council of the International Harbour Masters´ Organisation in Vancouver on June 1st, 2016.

Port of Kokkola is at the moment the only port from the Nordic countries, which is represented at the central body of IHMA.

Last time when Finland was represented was in the end of 1990s when a position in the council was held by the former Harbour Master of Helsinki, captain Kari Wallin.

The members of IHMA are actively participating in the correspondence groups of IMO and can contribute to the business within its field of competence.  IHMA has a consultative status at IMO.

Captain Carita Rönnqvist is also the IHMA representative in the PIANC working group named “Mooring large ships at quay walls”
